On July 6th my flight AA1481 from Santo Domingo to Miami was delayed 4-hours due to mechanical issue with aircraft causing me to miss my flight from Miami to Dallas (AA1002) that evening. I had to stay over in Miami (utter confusion in Miami with American Airline staff getting my hotel voucher) and was booked on a flight the next morning. I was late to my business meeting in Dallas on July 7, due to this delay. This was to be a short trip with a return early on July 8th. I needed to change my return flight by a couple of hours in order to achieve the objective of my trip. Unbelievably American Airlines charged me $200 fee to change my return flight and $47 fare change. I was told that I would need to send an email to request refund. When I did that, the reply was sorry this is against our policy. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!
